… the time in my life when I was venturing out, becoming my own person, and learning new things. I wanted to be independent, to prove to my parents I could make it on my own. I was drawn to this music, it was so different from anything I’d heard before. And all performed by these strong and fearless women, the kind of girl I *wanted* to be. The thing is – I never became “that girl”, but I could pretend to be… driving down Greenville Blvd. in my VW Rabbit, singing my heart out.

Listening to these songs still gives me a little self-confidence boost when I need it.

Ahhhh, I love this room. It has all my favorite things – books, a dog, and a snuggly blanket. I’d love to arrange our books this way when we get a new house. And speaking of, I have to get back to cleaning/packing. We are taking soooo long to get this house ready to sell. Sigh.

This arrangement makes me feel melancholy and happy and wistful all at the same time.  Just beautiful.  And the story at the end about his daughter is adorable.

OK, this is the just about the coolest thing ever.  This website takes your photos and miniaturizes them  - the pictures I used were taken at the cabin Kris and I stayed in for our anniversary.  I’m going to play with this more when I have some time.  I love it!

I’m so excited to see Where the Wild Things Are directed be Spike Jonze!  It comes out in October, and although I’ve read mixed reviews/opinions on the final version  - if it’s as cool as these pictures make it look?  It will be amazing.  

I can’t even tell you how many times we’ve read this book to the boys.  Kris and I both loved it as kids, and it was probably one of the first books we bought when we found out I was pregnant.  For a while, it was on the must read list EVERY NIGHT.  And we couldn’t just READ it.  There were voices, and sound effects, and actions that had to be done, and the boys just ate it up.  Actually, we haven’t pulled this book out for a long time.  I think we’ll have to dig it out from the bookshelf that has since replaced it with things like Captain Underpants and Goosebumps.
